Beautiful explanation of a story about Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) by Dr Tahir ul Qadri 

He says that once syedna jibreel asked almighty Allah O my Lord how this person Ibraham(syedna ibrahim(a.s))  how this  person Abraham is your chosen friend. Syedna Ibraham(a.s)  was sitting once on top of a mountain watching his sheep graze,below him there were four hundred flocks  of sheep (four hundred flocks of sheep which he owned) He(a.s) was such a rich person.He was watching them sitting on the top of the hill.Each flock with a shepherd and a dog and certain other arrangements for their protection.The angel said and protested that Almighty Allah  why you have taken Abraham  as yuor friend and as your beloved, The one who possesses all these worldly goods and so much worldly goods such a rich man having four hundred flocks of sheep, how you have chosen him as your beloved friend Angel asked from Almighty Allah.So Almighty Allah is answering to their question, He order jibraeel and said go to him let them know why i have chosen Abraham as my beloved go to Abraham and stand in front of him and mentioned my name loudly and say Allah hu Akbar,So the jibraeel(a.s) went to Abraham(a.s) in the form of a man and stood behind him and invokes  the Allah's name Loudly, Angel mentioned Almighty  Allah's name  with a very melodious voice Allah hu Akbar. When Hazrat Ibrahim(a.s) listened the voice of the angel he turned towards the Angel and asked him O Stranger  say it again,say it again,say it again for me. The Angel replied and say it again for you my friend what will you give me,Abraham(a.s) said i will give you a flock of sheep along with shepherd and dog and all other protected arrangements which i have made for the flock, i will give you just say one more time my beloved's name .Jibraeel(a.s) said it  Allah hu Akbar and Abraham gave him the flock. After that Abraham(a.s) said repeat it again for me.The angel replied and asked what will you give this time,Abraham(a.s)said  Another flock of sheep with all protected arrangements, The Angel said it again and Abraham again gave him a flock of sheep.After that Prophet Abram went on repeating  this again and again and  at end of the day Prophet Abraham gave him all four hundred flocks of sheep. Now Prophet Abraham(a.s) lost their ownership on flocks of sheep,He again asked the angel can you say one more time for me , The Angel replied again and  said i can but what cost will you pay now there is nothing left for you.Abraham you repeat my beloved's name and i will become your slave if you want keep me as your shepherd and if you want sell me in the market, just repeat once more my beloved's name,I will work as your shepherd.The Angel repeated Allah's name and Prophet Abraham went to angel raise his hand and said him that hold my hand and make me your slave.The Angel replied O Friend and Beloved of Allah it is indeed fitting that you should have been chosen beloving friend of Almighty Allah O Allah  whatever you  do, you do correctly. He (abraham) deserve to be your chosen friend.
